Gas. Groceries. Housing. They cost way too much. As a mom, it breaks my heart. I’m running for Senate to bring down prices so that families can afford to live in California and our kids can afford to stay here when they’re grown.

I’m not a politician. I’m a farmer, and I believe we need to shake up Sacramento. For too long, politicians have gotten rich, while our lives have gotten more expensive. We need to put working families ahead of the corrupt insiders who’ve been buying crooked politicians in both parties for decades.

It’s not going to be easy, but Californians have waited long enough. It’s time we lower the gas tax that’s making us pay more than any other state for fuel. We need to get more water to our farmers so that they can produce affordable food for every family. We need to tackle our insurance crisis head-on so that we can all afford a roof over our heads.

I am a mom and a farmer who has seen firsthand how bad policies from Sacramento have raised the cost of living for millions of Californians. It would be my honor to earn your vote, so that we can build a California families can afford. Let’s get to work. www.AlexandraForSenate.com

Jaron Brandon

County Supervisor
Party preference
Democratic
Candidate statement

Age: 34

Occupation: County Supervisor

I can almost hit Calaveras with a rock from my house. We don't have a red versus blue problem. We have a results problem. Too much politics, too many excuses. My name is Jaron Brandon. I'm running to deliver results for us.

There's honesty in running as a Democrat here. You know I'm not doing it because it's easy. People are frustrated with both parties and demanding something better. I'm a Columbia local, raised in a trailer park and my family’s small business, and now, at 34, serve as a two-term Tuolumne County Supervisor—the only candidate with hands-on experience tackling rural issues.

Communities like Angels Camp, Moke Hill, Arnold, and my hometown of Columbia are connected, independent, generous, historic—yet every year feels like treading water.

I’ve listened across Calaveras County from living rooms to Calaveras Frog Jumps to Murphy’s Theatre townhalls. Your priorities are clear: fix fire insurance, manage forests, fight fentanyl, lower PG&E, build workforce housing, support Main Streets, and restore local control. That's what real abundance looks like.

Many people voted for an independent rural voice to be heard by Sacramento. That's exactly why I'm running—and proud to have support from Supervisors Amanda Folendorf, Ben Stopper, Martin Huberty, and former Supervisors Jack Garamendi and Steve Wilensky.

I'm not rich. Not an incumbent. I don't have a famous name, and I’m a grassroots funded candidate. But money doesn't win elections. People do. Let's get to work—starting with fixing fire insurance.
