I joined the Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District Board in 2025 at a time of significant turmoil and change. In my short time I have demonstrated an unflinching commitment to integrity, transparency, safety and service to our community. I currently serve as Board Secretary and, with your vote, I pledge to continue to move us in a positive direction.

In 1984 I earned a BS in Forestry at UC Berkeley. I learned the principles of forest management including the effects of fuels, weather and topography on wildland fires. I learned that the Wildland Urban Interface, where homes meet the forest, is the most challenging aspect of fire management.

In 2019 I retired from a 30-year career with the East Bay Municipal Utility District. As a Ranger/Ranger Supervisor a key role was as a wildland fire fighter. I successfully developed fire response plans and fire training programs. I organized annual controlled burns. These efforts involved close collaboration with State and local fire agencies. I later served as Manager of Watershed and Recreation in which capacity I managed 22 staff and an annual operating budget of over $4.5 million dollars.

I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience for our community.
